TOG, I wouldn't expect to much from the annual. There isn't going to be any important news that we would not already be known up-front (if applicable).

You may learn some interesting details in the mingling (depending on who is there). The Q&A may always be nice, certainly given the new grade of questions the analysts started to use.

I do not remember one annual where something new was announced, not even the one after Sept 24th, 2012. "We are going to the bottom of this!" was the quote of that year and they went to the bottom of it, but it was not new.

Mostly an agenda of an annual meeting is made long in advance and quite standard in most of the cases. Some have an agenda point in which they make space to quickly give some info about important events between the end of the FY and the annual meeting.

But in all cases you cannot juts push something on the agenda last minute (like a vote) because some shareholders would maybe have come if they new that topic was on vote.

So if you expect news it will be before or after the annual in the form of a PR, IMO.
