To be honest I think terms like big boys are just key phrases that go around ihub to get people excited. Big firms usually don't allow their people to buy stocks like this because of the risk. Usually what happens is banks "big boys" " market makers" naked short these into the ground because they are the only ones in America that are allowed to short penny's. This gives them a huge one sided advantage to trade against the public. They can wait forever to cover and have unlimited $ compared to average joe. The very few legit companies often complain about the manipulation but nothing ever happens because the laws have been written this way on purpose so you can be traded against with pretty much no chance of winning.
