You do not seem to understand the retail market at all. I am an author.... I understand it perfectly. The retailer always makes more per book (or item) than the one who produces it. The 35% .... Along with the huge up front cash amount is perfectly normal.

Each entity in the deal needs the other. For example... The retail book store needs the author. The author needs the retail chain to market his book. True.... I can sell the book myself and make all the profit.... But how many will I sell??? The book distributor system can turn 1000's of sales into millions of sales. So... You can sell a few 1000 and make $12 each book... Or you can team up with the big dogs and make $1.00-$2.00 each on a million books.

Which sounds better to you??
So.... There is a small lesson on the retail business. It works like this in every field of business. Mr Mann knew this too..., he has made a great deal here.... His product is going to go global!!!! My goodness ... 35% is mighty good.... Mighty good indeed!!
