Trust me it had a huge effect. I trade on 2 different scottrade margin accounts and I have a decent amount of money free in one of them but I was unable to buy any shares this week because they would not allow me to place an order. I'm sure there were many others in the same boat as me. I have fidelity but I can't touch penny stocks with that account. Scottrade killed us this week. They need to try their hardest to get back on scottrade otherwise people will be scared to buy from other brokerages.
