Common sense says that Dr Schewe would not have paid out $36,000 this month unless the $200,000 for the license renewal was met. He would have just walked away and licked his wounds.
Most of us suspected that Hawaii was a done deal once the quarantine showed it was not a dangerous invasive species. Someone had to have convinced Dr K that a deal was to be made upon successful trials. Hawaii has a serious problem with energy and is trying to get off oil. GKG may be part of the solution to their problem.
Anyone who has visited Hawaii recently has seen thousands of acres sitting idle due to the pineapple industry moving elsewhere.
Growing GKG to be feed to the livestock makes perfect sense and the access to Pacific ring countries to sell animal feed to is a no brainer.
A few months ago I came across mention of GKG on Guam but it didn't say much though it does make sense. Guam would be perfect to export animal feed to Japan and the use of GKG to generate energy at our military base would satisfy the DOA mandate that more renewable fuels be used. Is Guam an Island nation? Are the philipeans?
.10-15 is not a stretch or a day dream. The question is how long it will take.
