Paulness: CYGX knows who the big players are in DNA Therapeutics. They know who they have to target for potential sales of synDNA when they are in a position to manufacture and supply it in large quantities. E-mailing the company would be a waste of time in my opinion. Aldevron and GE Healthcare will help get the word out. CYGX needs to procure funding to pay Alfa Laval to finish out the entire synDNA production facility. Then then need to get the FDA to give them the cGMP seal of approval. After that, its off to the races. What company in the field of synDNA Therapeutics would be stupid enough or stubborn enough to use an inferior fermented DNA plasmid if a synDNA plasmid could be constructed that is more effective and cheaper? In my opinion the two biggest winners in DNA vaccines, in the short term, will be Vical (VICL) and PowderMed. And the PowderMed "gene gun" approach will become the accepted state of the art delivery device. Intra muscular injections of DNA vaccines have cellular uptake problems. Without cellular uptake you don't get the desired immune response. The PowderMed approach sends the DNA "payload" at supersonic speeds into the EPIDERMIS, where there are more immunity cellular "watchdogs". The PowderMed approach alleviates the need for electroporation or the use of viral vectors. It might even reduce or eliminate the need for adjuvants. It also is able to utilize a smaller "payload" for the same immune response. And PowderMed's vaccines will be stable at room temperature for years, a definite advantage when sending vaccines to third world countries. The final advantage is that their "gene-gun" can be utilized without a lot of training. Intra muscular injections require more training, and leave behind "sharps" which can pose a disposal problem. I wish PowderMed was a publicly traded company. I'd buy $50 K of stock in them immediately. But, they are a private company for the time being. I see their future as one similar to CYGX. Both would make a few of their own vaccines, but both would license out their advantageous technology to other vaccine makers.....PowderMed's delivery system and CYGX's synDNA...What a double play combination!
