"Anyway, HP's customers at least have a choice now. Which is a good thing. Dell's customers dont have that. "

What kind of imbecilic remark is this?

Of course Dell customers have a choice - the same choice that ANY customer has.

They can buy a Dell PC with an Intel processor or buy an HP PC with an AMD processor- or any other product with any other processor they so desire.

Look at the data - Dell is now the largest PC maker and the fastest growing Teir 1 PC maker on the planet. Dell's customers have spoken - they prefer the Dell product with an Intel microprocessor. Otherwise, they would have called up HP and ordered an AMD-based PC.
But they didn't. Did they?
Wonder why? You can't use the AMD exuse that Dell goons forced their customers to buy Intel - because Dell is a mail order/internet based company - and doesn't have an army of goons traveling the planet with night sticks and guns.
They have a horde of phone operators and internet-based software taking orders - and those orders keep piling in - for Intel-based PCs.
Get over it.
AMD is a second tier company offering second tier products to second and third tier customers.
