HOW can we Increase the wages of someone flipping burgers and NOT Expect the COST of the Product to follow which decreases the business itself??? Would this not lead to more corporations failing, or even more leaving the country? I see absolutely no rationale there....

There's no evidence that companies go out of business with higher minimum wages. Second, most corporations whether small or large avoid taxation (either illegally or legally). Third, product costs increase every year regardless if they pay their low income employees more or not. This is quite apparent if you look at the price of food, clothing, services, etc. where the average burger flipper, retail worker, etc. has seen little to no wage increase. Fourth, increased wages to lower income employees will result in higher overall economic demand as lower income employees spend all of their additional wages. This will result in economic growth and higher tax revenues since corporations are avoiding paying their fair share of taxes. Five, corporations get a tax deduction for salaries paid and thus the wage increase paid by corporations is less than the actual pay increase. Sixth, corporations leaving the U.S. is not an issue. Its highlighted today because there have been some larger deals recently however we've seen corporations leaving the U.S. for decades using reverse triangle mergers, etc. (i.e., Tyco Intl, etc.). The main reason why you see activity now are corporations are running out of real ways of increasing earnings and free cash flows.

I could keep going on and on however I think its obvious what should be done here.

With respect to the military... Most military are paid well ($80K+/year). I agree they are taking on a huge role in our freedom and should be adequately paid and the military people I know are and have been (making $100+K/year with no living costs, etc.) and they will retire with a very nice pension a decade or two before the average person will be able to retire. They made the decision to defend the country and understand the risk/return of enlisting.
