Obviously always depends on the catalyst and even more so on the kind of stock you trade. Impossible to generalize. The smaller the market cap and the thinner the stock the bigger gaps you will see from time to time. I do have stocks from time to time that gap up 100 or 150%. But that's rare. That said I have seen thin stocks gap up 1000% on a promotion from one of the big promoters in the business. All very individual.
SIAF is not such a small and thin stock anymore so accordingly the gaps will always be smaller in relation to the above mentioned stocks. And then again it always depends on the catalyst.
