Right, I understand and don't dispute that Alexa ratings aren't reliable for absolute measurements of a site's traffic. But the ranking are not just flawed for SEEK, they are flawed for every website for those same reasons, including google and yelp and so on. So it does seem like it could provide reliable data about the popularity of a website relative to other websites (but not relative to an absolute scale).

So even if it's only measuring people who visit seek who have an Alexa toolbar installed, it's also only measuring traffic to google and yelp and so on by people with that same toolbar. So it does mean something. It means that, within the universe of web users who have an Alexa toolbar installed, SEEK's traffic is declining rapidly. That's bad.
