I don't understand all the angst on this board. We own, or most of us, a part of a small biopharmaceutical company that through it's early support of Dr. Thorpe and UTSW are developing and potentially commercializing a broad based antibody that just may, I repeat may, be a help in curing cancer. That's what we have. It's a small cap, high risk venture where very few succeed.
PPHM was almost dealt a killing blow with the PH2 NSCLC debacle. Who is really behind that screw up may or may not come out in the years ahead. What we do know is management and our "unloved" BOD resurrected the trial and with the help of Garnick received Fast Track approval from the FDA! This was a huge accomplishment for a small bio to pull off. On top of that, with the help of KL Gates, we found a way to finance the Ph3 on our own. Yes, it's dilutive, but we now have the finances to bring BAVI to the finish line. We have a manufacturing subsidiary, AVID, that controls our manufacturing and also provides revenue with 3rd party bio's needing manufacturing of antibodies.
In addition to all the above, we have KOL's spread around the globe education the medical/scientific fields of the importance of our 100% owned PS platform. We have dozens of IST/collaborators that are interested enough in our platform to put their time, money, and efforts into trials.
I may sound like an unabashed cheerleader here but after reading the post since the CC you'd think we were a floundering mess of a company. It takes time to commercialize a new platform. We are not a big BP. It will take us longer. We have to do it with a streamlined budget and laser focus to get to the finish line. That is what our management and BOD are doing. It will take time. We've had a good start with approximately 140 sites set up for the Ph3. I'm sure enrollment is taking place at an equally brisk pace. And I don't blame PPHM for not detailing every move. Someone was behind the debacle of the PH2. I'm sure PPHM will keep things very close to the vest moving forward. Hopefully we'll hear from IST and collaborators positive news as they work with BAVI.
The share price will take it's lumps with the market in general. This market looks tired to me and I suspect after a 1000 days without a 10% pullback in the S&P we will see one soon. If that happens I'm sure PPHM along with many other small caps will be even more attractively priced. If you can't take the long view and high risk in this stock I'm sure there are better places for you to put your money. The market doesn't care how long you've been in a stock and what return you "deserve". I will continue to support this company with timely share purchases.
