Anesthesiologists love Propofol --widely used but no drugs available to treat its respiratory depression. I think the market for an IV antidote would be big-- every place that uses Propofol would stock it and it would decrease the main risk associated with Propofol.

Also, as GFP pointed out, the drugs we have to reverse respiratory depression caused by opiates also block the pain receptors and so a new drug like Cortex's would displace the present reversal drug in hospitals, etc. Same with Benzos -- we worry about reversing the benzo caused respiratory depression because the reversal agents block the benzo effects and thus can cause the patient to seizure. So we have to intubate the patients instead.
There's loads of potential with these drugs -- real, unserved indications -- but unfortunately, with Cortex that has always been the case and it has never actualized its potential. Let's home Lippa can change that. In many ways, Cortex has never been closer, but that still doesn't count....
