Well over the counter cough syrup doesn't meet the indications that AVP-923 does. Sure they are relatively the same thing but they really are not. The fact that it also contains quinidine sulfate really sets them apart. A doctor would not recommend an Alzheimer's patient go purchase a bunch of OTC cough syrup but rather prescribe the actual medication. I just came across this company as it climbed recently and it's interesting seeing DXM developed for such diseases. It sounds simple, hopefully they continue to get positive results.
