I asked Dan if a withdrawal also needs approval from Kenya... and I refered to CEPSA's very fast disclosure of their decision to leave block 12B.

Hi Dr.J,

I am prohibited from commenting on speculation, so I won’t comment on any specific situation. I can say that at the end of each exploration period, the government is required to consider and approve whatever next steps an operator and/or other interest holders present. Even if an operator were to decide not to proceed for whatever reason, the government would examine whether all obligations during Phase I had been met and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and terms of the PSC.

I would not read anything into the fact that a couple weeks have passed. As indicated, the technical team has found the data gathered to date to be encouraging.

Sincerely,

Daniel Keeney, APR

What Dan is saying here is, imo, that the government DOES need to authorize the withdrawal, but that it of course would not result in an elaborate, time consuming 'study' of that decision.

it's been 5 weeks now (august 6th) that ERHC disclosed that the seismic was completed.

This, together with the fact that results were found to be encouraging, results in a conclusion that a withdrawal is almost impossible at this time, based upon common sense.
