Their customer service person says that I can change the service after I activate my phone. I've read elsewhere that you need to do it before activation. I plan to call customer care at Verizon to verify. I am not sure whether or not I can cancel my order at this point as it may have already shipped and I suspect that the Apple Store requires you to activate it in the store as that's how Verizon gets their money I think.

So it may be too late to do anything about this or it might work out well. I guess I'll find out in the morning.
