to me its all about having any hard asset that will hold or increase in value. silver is the the better play imo because it will outperform gold by percentage. and is cheaper to accumulate.
i like the idea of owning both coin/bars as well as scrap (silver bowls, spoons, knives, forks. complete silverware sets ect. i also hold copper. valuable art too. did you know diamonds and gems are used to trade for oil.
