As for regional banks

Higher long-term rates is a positive for banks. That's why the regional bank ETF (KRE is the symbol) was up Friday. Banks borrow money at the overnight rate and lend it out at the 5 to 10 year rate.

When long-term rates go up and short-term rates stay steady it directly increases the profit margin for banks.

That's why the financial sector is the only S&P 500 sector that was up over the last two days (Thursday and Friday):
