I'd hardly call adding one store an "expansion", at least one of note. It also doesn't make a whole lot of sense and makes me wonder how this "test" actually works. Adding one store is basically a non-event. It's meaningless. Couple of hundred dollar deal at best. Hardly seems worth the effort other than Marani twisting it around for a PR. Maybe they only have a certain amount of space for these tests? There are thirty Costcos in the area and Marani is in less than half of them. Heck there's two in Tustin and they're not even in those. Are they paying a slotting fee? I think there's some details to the Costco deal we don't know about. Maybe the one store was on the original target list but wasn't available until now? Just weird. And if the product was going so great why add only one store? Why not the thirty others in the SoCal area? Seems odd that Costco would not take advantage of a product if it was in fact selling out on a regular basis.

So, if you say they'd have to be incompetent for adding a store if it was not doing great, wouldn't you have to say they are incompetent for only adding one store if they are doing so great?
