Tryoty, why do you think that CVX has to acknowledge the straddle. CVX is not a bunch of warm, fuzzy guys that are out to help their "buds" in the neighboring block. If they could suck out all the oil in our block by drilling a hole near the border without getting caught, they would, or I would sell my CVX stock because I would have lost faith in them. With all due respect, the only way we will know the true results of the first drillings is because the countries that have the area rights will demand cooperation between the drilling companies.
Platina, a poster here, showed a good example of what happened in the north sea area when oil reservoirs overlapped and companies were compelled to collaborate in drilling efforts. I would be surprised if CVX would give us any advice that would help us, unless it would help them eat our lunch down the road. I am long and like our prospects in spite of the zip PR. GLTY
