Bskjohnson is having difficulty posting on I-Hub (technical difficulties). She posted this on RB and didn't think she'd mind if she saw it in print on this venue:

Balance Builder....the old computer won't let me post on IHUB again. It let me post that one test post and then that was it.

It's encouraging to see the sp not cratering on a lack of news being released to the public. The stock price is telling me that a lot of action is going on behind closed doors. It's been too quiet if you know what I mean.

My China connections aren't all that great but what I can gather is that they do not like STP at all. The other thing I think I know is that they are trying to line up more than one rig for the JDZ. Something is up.

China is an interesting country. The young people are definitely more materialistic than their parents. Almost everyone under 25 years of age speaks respectable English. Good thing because language is complicated there. There are more English speaking people in China than there are in the U.S.

The Chinese gov't is interesting. They are definitely more brutal than we are with law breakers, but they also work very hard for the common good of the people. The average law abiding citizen there has a surprising amount of freedom. I guess one of my presuppositions was that I was going to find a citizenry that was very oppressed. That is simply not so.

China has some modern cities but it is still a nation of poverty. 5 miles out of the city and you don't know what century you are in. They have a long way to go but Umbra is right. Once the Chinese become stronger economically, they will be a force to be reckoned with.

My hope is they will be peaceful world citizens, God help us if they aren't.

So much for my rambling.
