Golder Associates started in 1960 in Canada with the lofty ambition of being a modestly successful, high quality, "niche" market company focused on ground engineering.

Our founding fathers underestimated their ability to succeed with respect to the reach of their technical capacity, their ability to manage a growing company and their philosophy of how a knowledge-based company should be run.

They also underestimated the attractiveness of their philosophy to draw bright young people from all around the world to an enterprise that offered them interesting and significant opportunities.

Through the early 1970s, Golder established operations in Canada, the US, the UK and Australia and was by then doing project work around the world. Today we have over 180 offices on six continents.
