The whole premise of BION is to be able to take solid biomass waste and convert it into syngas. The syngas is then a feedstock to the next few processes which ( in Bions case) happen to make nitrogen fertilizer / ammonia etc. The great part about the entire 'modular' process is that natural gas can be used as an alternative to syngas should it become really cheap. But also on the latter ends, syngas can be used to create all different types of fuels by adjusting the air / oxygen mixtures during the gasification processes ( resulting in different types of syngas for the final product).
