In regards to the disclosure,

EPGL has agreed to work exclusively with CooperVision in
the ophthalmic and medical field to develop selected advanced technologies, granting
CooperVision exclusive options to license or outright purchase EPGL’s rights to such
technologies.



In my view, the self contained power source and platform were not on the table for negotiation. This left the door open to Make other deals with other company's in the same industry or otherwise. EPGL is fostering competition between competitors in regards to the Smart Lens. They actually do not have preference who brings one to market, as long as their technology is in it.
It would be extra icing on the cake, if their tech and ideas for the specific medical device were contained within whatever does make it to market.
Each of the players in the smart lense battle have already claimed their own medical devices to be integrated within, except for COO, so aside from COO, the others interest in the medical devices of EPGL, are negligible.
It's still all about the power and the control platform.
