I assume that you are from the U.S. I don't believe that any officer of the court, or any law enforcement agency, would use the internet or personal phone calls to threaten you.
In many states, there are laws prohibiting such conduct. "Intimidation By False Assertion of Authority," is what it is called in my state. I'm sure that your state has a similar law. Most states also have laws against harrassment.
