Just gotta chuckle at message boards and discussion. I made a post about the ongoing execution of one order and discussion turns to market wide price manipulation. Anyone want to expand it again to shorting and dark pools? LOL....The actual point of such original post was that If I had used a market order instead of a limit order at the ask for CTIX "they" (it could have even been my own brokerage if they are a market maker in CTIX) could have upped the price of execution making me pay more than the ask where I wanted to buy it. It is one method used by market makers to increase their profits. This is precisely why understanding the difference between the two order types makes a difference in buying and selling price execution in volatile or low volume stocks. If it helps one person get a better price on a buy or sell then I consider the post worthwhile. Have a great day everyone. CTIX
