This article references (7) the Lohr, Salmons, Gunzburg paper/work of 1998. We already know about the success of those initial tests. It goes on to talk about a similar test using "engineered breast cancer cells were mixed with nonexpressing cells, and the resultant mixtures were injected into nude mice". interesting wording...."Expression of the drug-activating enzyme was able to convert the prodrug into the cytotoxic moiety in vivo, resulting in either cures or tumor regression in all surface-tethered CPG2(Q)-3-expressing groups (61) ." Heard "regression" before but not "cure". Very interesting, hopefully this is along the lines of what Von Hoff is thinking too.
