Please understand, I am not trying to discredit the act of sin. They were wrong in taking the fruit. But there had to have been something in the fruit, as you said, that would then drive them to want to live forever.

I was just thinking- before the Fall, Adam and Eve would not had to have eaten from the Tree of Life. Before the Fall there was no death. They wouldn't have needed the fruit.
