Hard rock mining with drilling and blasting is completely different. You have to be able to drill holes to put the black powder in. I don't know if you have ever tried to drill a hole in solid rock using a hammer and a star bit, but I have. It was just for fun in a contest. It is very slow and makes a lot of noise. Someone banging with a hammer doesn't go unnoticed. There is also a big difference between a gun shot and a timed blast. Most of the early miners went after gold in quartz veins. They would crush the quartz and use a gravity separation to remove the gold. Later they used cyanide to clean up the tailings.
You are so out of your league trying to discuss this. I am speaking as a mining engineer with 45 years of experience.
