Seven of the 10 highest-valued companies, plus Snapchat, have acquired at least one startup except for car-sharing firm Uber, space transport company Space X and Pure Storage, according to CB Insights.

The top 10 highest valued companies, ranked by number of acquisitions:

Dropbox: 18 acquisitions
AirBnB: 6 acquisitions
Pinterest: 5 acquisitions
Square: 5 acquisitions
Jawbone: 4 acquisitions
Palantir: 3 acquisitions
Cloudera: 2 acquisitions
Snapchat (it is reportedly raising money that would peg it at a $10 billion valuation): 1 acquisition
Pure Storage: 0
SpaceX: 0
