Lime Energy Shares Surge to Two-Year High on $108 Mln in New Business

Lime Energy (LIME) shares surged Thursday to a two-year high, tripling on the clean-energy company's announcement that it was awarded approximately $180 million of new utility program business.

The stock's surge came on much higher-than-average volume. Some 396,000 shares have changed hands so far in Thursday's session, versus a daily average of just under 16,000. LIME, which has a market capitalization of just $25.7 million, was up 225% at $6.89 recently after hitting an intraday high of $7.29, its highest level since July 2012.

The awards are for modified and new agreements with four separate utilities. All awards are for Lime's small business energy efficiency programs.
