MP Evans posts record 2024 results, eyes growth

MP Evans Group PLC (AIM:MPE) CEO Matthew Coulson takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s record results for 2024 and the strong start to 2025. MP Evans Group reported a robust financial performance in 2024, with Coulson confirming a record profit and a 66% increase in earnings per share. “It’s been a fantastic year for the group,” Coulson said, noting that high pricing supported the result, with prices averaging around $820 per tonne for the year. The company processed 1.6 million tonnes of crop in 2024, maintaining output despite weather-related challenges in Indonesia. Coulson highlighted this achievement in context: while Indonesia saw a slight national decline in crop yield, MP Evans sustained high volumes, reflecting operational resilience. Planting activity also continued across its operations, particularly in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan. The company expects to exceed 11,000 hectares planted at its Musi Rawas estate in early 2025, while its ABK site in East Kalimantan is set for more extensive development this year. Coulson also noted a milestone in sustainability, with over 250,000 tonnes of certified sustainable output processed across the company’s six mills in 2024. Gunnison Copper advances Johnson Camp Mine construction, on track for Cathode Production in Q3 2025

Gunnison Copper SVP- Operations Robert Winton joined Steve Darling from Proactive to provide an update on the ongoing construction progress at the fully permitted Johnson Camp Mine in southeast Arizona. Speaking with Proactive, Winton confirmed that construction activities are on schedule, with the company expecting to produce copper cathode by Q3 2025. Mining of mineralized material officially began in January 2025, and the extracted material is currently being stockpiled in preparation for the completion of the leach pad. The Phase-1 leach pad has been successfully completed, while Phase-2 is advancing rapidly. Once Phase-2 is in place, the company will begin installing Nuton’s advanced processing equipment, a key step toward optimizing sulfide and oxide mineralized material processing. Gunnison Copper has also completed the redesign and construction of a state-of-the-art laboratory for on-site material and process analysis. The lab is set to begin ramping up in April 2025 and will be fully commissioned once leach pad production is underway. Additionally, the company’s HR team is making significant strides in building a strong workforce, with an emphasis on local hiring. COSOL Sees U.S. market as key growth driver

COSOL Limited Managing Director Scott McGowan talked with Proactive at AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s role in driving operational efficiency across asset-intensive industries. COSOL Limited works with organisations in mining, oil and gas, utilities, and public infrastructure to enhance the performance of their physical assets. McGowan explained the company’s core service as unlocking value by helping clients reduce costs through better asset management. “We look at ways that we can save them real dollars to be able to manage that asset more effectively,” he said. The company’s client list includes major names such as Glencore, Rio Tinto, BHP, and several government departments. COSOL provides the systems and processes behind the scenes to manage these organisations’ equipment and facilities, potentially impacting hundreds of millions in operational costs. Even a 2–3% improvement, McGowan said, “makes a significant difference to their bottom line.” COSOL has grown revenue from AUD 30 million to over AUD 110 million since listing. It is now targeting organic growth in the mid-teens and exploring earnings-accretive acquisitions.
