India, Russia Hold Nuke Talks

India and Russia recently held discussions regarding setting up of 22 nuclear power projects in the South Asian country. Although officials of the two countries discussed the issue earlier this month, both New Delhi and Moscow did not disclose the news.

At the forum, participants agreed that JINR should play an important role in connecting Russian organisations with Indian institutes and universities, thus, facilitating mutually beneficial co-operation between the two countries in the field of scientific research. Meanwhile, a Russian official stressed that Moscow would help India implement 22 nuclear projects in the coming years. According to him, the successful implementation of these projects will help India meet its growing demand for electricity.
