Just seems to me

1301 on Gold last night was synthetic, targeted, fabricated, whatever you want to call it, so all the 1300 call options expire worthless. At least from articles I've read, it seems to be the conventional wisdom - that it's rare for heavily bought contracts to pay off.

Again, I don't follow option trading so I'm only guessing, but I know it plays an important role among everything else in the toolbox.
