I laugh at how this article attempts to put a negative spin on the industry by talking about the homeless flocking to Denver because of their cannabis laws.
They conveniently fail to mention that legal cannabis in Colorado is spurning a massive 420 Tourism phenomenon that is recruiting folks of every kind across the country to come to this state to take part in the expanding culture. So seeing homeless folk going there in larger numbers should not be surprising as there is a higher rate of addiction and drug abuse to begin with among that population. Duh!!
To spin that situation as a blight on the industry is tantamount to saying that since there are alcoholics living in parts of New Jersey where there are districts that are deemed "dry" regions, who move to another district where they can get their booze legally, then these alcoholics relocating to a nearby area demonstrate that the alcohol industry is to blame. That's ludicrous!
The majority of the alcohol consuming population uses the substance responsibly, so should the entire industry be shunned because a smaller segment of the population is unable to do so? That's like saying "Let's get rid of McDonalds because it attracts a lot of overweight people."
There will always be unintended consequences with any revolutionary movement such as the legalization movement. But these SHOULD be seen as growing pains, and not some fatal flaw indicative of the need to abort the bigger picture (national/federal legalization).
Eh, if we didn't see the anti legalization movement sputter along with a modicum of propaganda, it just wouldn't be as much fun anyway! LOL
