this is not correct - under US GAAP an equity interest of 20% or less is recorded this way (cost method), however, investments of 21-50% are recorded under the equity method in which the investment is increased on the balance sheet and there is a line item on the P&L for the net earnings of such investment. Greater than 50% ownership requires full consolidation of the entities balance sheet and p&l. Since mCig owns 49%, they will report 49% of the net income from vcig quarterly in their P&L...
