Today's orchestrated bear attack reveals fear and desperation. Not one new fact has been provided by any of the miscreants creating noise - yet they manage to get attention. Ignore them.

It takes earphones, good music, and patience to stay calm during bear raids. It it not the noise in the night that holds danger, it is your mind's interpretation of the meaning of the noise that scares you. Same holds true for the noises being created by the shills. These are the same cotton candy vendors who drove the price down before the AdCom. We all know the outcome of that, and (even when they screamed no FDA approval), we got approval in advance of the PDUFA date. Anyone see a pattern?

I wonder if this steady, tired drumbeat of desperation has anything to do with how far underwater all of those portfolios are going to be when the announcement comes? Or do you imagine it is being driven by charitable concerns about the well-being of YOUR portfolio?

If an underperforming SAC associated hedge fund manager with a personal agenda cries wolf, the wise consider the source. Only the meek and uninformed will drop everything and run. The strong just ignore the noise and move quietly about their day, patient to reap their rewards when the time presents itself.

As the days tick on, more noise is expected, because the fear is building among those who were not clever enough to take the right position.

Personally, I find the ignore feature a very useful tool for noise abatement.
