It is NOT the MMs.
It is all those people that are converting their preferred shares and just want their money back from the deal they made 2 years ago for the company they sold to NMKT. Apparently, they do not intend to wait around any longer to see if they can get a few pennies more for their shares than the next guy that has 5 million more shares to sell from the conversion of shares from their deal. Us NMKT shareholders have been sold way too thinly to buy all these companies that are just now beginning to add to the bottom line. On top of that, some of the deals ended up not being anything profitable, and will NEVER bring revenues to the balance sheet - just major losses. As best as I understand it, the owners of those companies from those worthless deals could still have shares to sell to get their money from the deal. Us NMKT shareholders are paying them off now and for the past year. Hopefully they have sold ALL their shares by now.
MMs do not need to hold this down with so many people getting so many shares to sell at any show of strength.
Quit blaming it on MMs and shorters and realize where the oversupply is coming from.
