If the phone is ringing, why no new announced deals? Well, here is a story about bulls. Not bulls and bears, bulls and cows. A young bull and an old bull are walking together in a pasture when they top a hill. Below the hill is a herd of cows. The young bull says, "Wow I can't wait to run down there and "do" one of them!"
To which the old bull calmly replies, "Let's walk down and "do" them all."

In this story the cows represent companies that potential deals could be made with. The young bull represents us, the shareholder anxious for news of a deal. The old bull represents management realizing that patience may make any such "deal" more valuable.
