Gold extends losses to close lower for second day SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures edged down Wednesday to close lower for a second day as lingering geopolitical risks provided support even as a strong stock market offset demand. August gold (CNS:GCQ4) fell $1.60, or 0.1%, for the session to settle at $1,304.70 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
