Product Review for Jala bars with pictures...
and of course where I GOT JALA
Well, after traveling way longer then I would have liked to travel to try it. But, after tasting the flavors and owning shares of the company it made the 1 and 45 minute travel each way worth it. I purchased 2 strawberry, 1 blueberry and 1 fudge for a total of $27.56 (16 bars), I think the high price could be because of it being in Manhattan, I did not check any other prices for competition at the location, the store didn't list prices on display (plus I wanted to get out of the store taste it and go home). The weird thing is on the receipt they listed it as the old product but whatever. I would have took a picture of the actually bar itself but on the way home they kind of melted and need to be re-frozen and probably won't look as good as they did when new.
All 3 bars had a creamy sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet flavor (I would say perfection). The bars were thick and creamy looking (Yasso bars are 3.0oz JALA 3.5oz). The light fluffy texture was indeed very creamy. The flavor was very fulfilling not bland like the other brands I have tasted (yogurt to fruit ratio was very good). In my opinion none of the JALA bars had a bitter aftertaste like other brands. The true test comes when I give them to my 3 year old daughter tomorrow. She rejected the Yasso Blueberry after 2 bites.
If I ate each bar blindfolded I would be able to identify each flavor very easily. I have read some reviews with Yasso that stated that the reviewer would not have been able to identify the flavor without seeing the box.
I would buy these again and not just because I am a shareholder, I really enjoyed the taste of the product. The only 2 cons I came across with the product would be price (I am hoping the high price is due to where i purchased them), and also CORN SYRUP is listed in the ingredients, but it probably does give it that extra flavor that many other brands lack.
