TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The firing of a University of Arizona faculty member has halted the research of medical marijuana as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Dr. Suzanne Sisley was set to begin the only federally-approved research into cannabis as treatment for military veterans who suffer from PTSD.
Sisley was let go from the university last month. She is appealing the decision.
Medical marijuana advocates say her firing means much-needed research is being put on hold.
