Interesting the article states they have chosen 7 different meter vendors. I have to believe WM made this list and is leading the technology demands. Capturing and monitoring GPS data could be as easy as partnering up with a 3rd party for these services. ADT Home Security systems are made by Honeywell. Cox Whole Home Security systems are made by SMT Technologies. If everything we've read about WM's meters is accurate the meters are already producing the data needed for collection.

Playing devil's advocate, the list of demands for these meters and their functions most likely exceeds the budget they need to stay within. Negotiations are still in process.
