SEAN McENIFF, a former Donegal GAA star and member of the hotelier family, is leading an online gambling venture that plans to take on industry giants such as Paddypower.com.
Seaniemac.com will launch shortly before the Cheltenham festival . It is 70% backed by US investors, with the rest owned by McEniff and Shane O’Driscoll, his Kerry-based business partner. McEniff is the chief executive.
The pair have been working on the idea for 18 months, they said. About $2m (€1.46m) has been put in by investors assembled by the listed US company Compliance Systems Corp, which McEniff chairs.
O’Driscoll said that $6m would be invested by the end of year three. The venture has only a handful of staff, but plans to hire 200 full-time employees by then. Television
