I imagine something like this going down, "hi there, I tried this awesome natural product and wondered if you carry it. You don't? Fill out a request form? Ok! Thanks!" Maybe it helps get it on the shelf for whomever to try. This is how, for example, Stonyfield yogurt got into walmart; little ladies requesting a non gmo product. They went from a mom and pop farm to mega growth. Our local grocer didn't hold it over my head when I request product; if it sells well, he continues to buy, if not and I don't ask again, he doesn't reorder.
