I equate it to voting for a politician. When you vote for someone who says they will do one thing and then once they get elected does another it does not let them off the hook because you voted for them. Yes it's your fault you voted for them, that does not make it right on their part to have mislead you. So you can both take accountability for your trading and be pissed at the investment at the same time.
