Depending on your broker, you may be able to set up an "iceberg" order, where you specify the size of the order to be shown. I trade with Interactive Brokers, and there is a Display Size field when setting up a trade that allows you to display all, hide the order or display a smaller number of shares than the total order. This feature is not supported by IB when trading OTCs, but it is for the major exchanges. I am not sure about other brokers, but I assume some of the instructional trading platforms would also offer this functionality.
