The #C4CT Concussion Awareness Summit is being convened on July 31, 2014 to explore the potential link between TBI and Alzheimer's disease. A diverse working group of clinicians, medical researchers, policy makers, international diplomats, athletes, celebrities, and philanthropic organizations will be assembled to raise awareness, advance clinical research, and develop public policy in order to address this major unmet medical need and public health issue.

The Summit will feature multiple panelists and presenters including an opening keynote by The Honorable Chaka Fattah (D-PA), Member of Congress; Chris Nowinski, Co- Founder & Executive Director of Sports Legacy Institute, Co-Director for the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy at Boston University School of Medicine and Former WWE Wrestler; Robert Stern, Ph.D., Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Anatomy and Neurobiology and Clinical Core Director of BU Alzheimer's Disease Center, Boston University School of Medicine; and Robert Cantu, M.A., M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.A.N.S., F.I.C.S., F.A.C.S.M., Boston University School of Medicine and Sport Legacy Institute (SLI). There will also be a special panel of current and former professional athletes who will share personal stories about their experiences with concussions.
