The industry is booming in WA state--I live here and see it. Other states will look to WA to work out the bugs with regulation and then follow suit. I'm not in Seattle, or even close and it's obvious here, too. The big issue is the crackdown on the illegal/forest grows because of the nonsustainable, sometimes really damaging grow practices. So self- or commercial cultivation is the push. As marijuana becomes more accepted (just for the record, I'm horribly allergic to the stuff) I think more people will want to grow their own. At the current price per gram (in the newspaper here every day in some story or another), people will want to cultivate it like orchids. I can see it taking off like the wine industry here. Washington, the (mellow) Evergreen state.....I'm long a few thousand, don't stand to lose much, but still holding a bit in my portfolio.
