Speaking of restrictions...

FL holds meetings for the roll out of medical marijuana (a Charlotte’s Web type strain only) on Monday to a packed house. Everybody and their brother were crammed into hear what the unfolding plan will be.

As a start, FL regulators have specific mindsets that will be adhered to, at least in the initial phases. Approximately 41 growers within the state meet the rigid guidelines set forth by the regulators. Potential growers/nurseries must have 30 years of operational growing in FL and will be selected by a lottery.

Other proposed criteria:
• State divided into 5 regions with 1 grower per region
• If more than 1 grower has applied in a region, there will be a lottery as the selection process
• If selected, company has 30 days to pay $150,000 for license and put up a $5,000,000 bond
• When licensed, each company will have 120 days to begin dispensing the medicine or lose its license
• Plants must contain no more than 0.8 percent THC or less than 10 percent CBD — or all of the product would be destroyed
• Plants must be planted from the same seeds and cuttings and harvested at the same time then tested
• The law envisions growers becoming store owners, creating a series of dispensaries in each region of the state. The proposed rules suggest their stores be open at least 30 hours a week, and no later than 10 p.m. and the products they sell are limited: no edible cannabis products, such as cookies or candy, and no cigarettes

FL has a whopping 70-80% approval rating for medical marijuana. 84% of seniors living in FL approve of MMJ, but that rate drops off significantly when asked for approval as recreational.

I have no doubt that the proposed MMJ amendment will pass this NOV. Hopefully, this will allow qualified growers be able to produce.

MMJ is a must. Recreational….baby steps, baby steps.

Hopefully, TRTC can partner with a selected grower in FL. Personally, I’d like to see Derek partner with the Stanley’s in CO and then grow to control MMJ nationally. JMHO
