Flags go up for me & no offence meant to be given. Courtesy alone would mean calling for an appointment that is convenient for everyone. Let's assume people are working there & have deadlines. In the business I am in, certain people have the position to do the 'tour'. I know I wouldn't be to impressed when everybody else books a tour.

IMO only. Good luck but don't complain if they politely ask you to make an appointment.
